MICHAEL CHICKEN
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER Michael's career started in Merchant Banking before building up 50% of the property loan book at British & Commonwealth Merchant Bank. He established Merchant Place Corporate Finance Limited in 1998, which has written about £2 billion of syndicated property acquisitions. In 2006, he then established Merchant Place Developments Limited, a property developer that won an award for the best worldwide industrial development in 2010, for its development of a 460,000 sq. ft. factory for Hitachi Rail, seen as the biggest inward investment project in the North East since Nissan. Michael established Property Box in 2013 and provides the expertise and experience to address the most difficult deals. |
BARRY TANSEY
DIRECTOR Barry is a Chartered Accountant who has been working in the construction and property development sector for the last 21 years and since 2004 has been CEO of the Mizen Group and more recently St Mark Homes PLC. Barry has an extensive knowledge of financing, development and strategic development issues and has worked on residential led development projects ranging in size from 10 to 200 units. He has been instrumental in formulating and driving business strategy during the Group’s significant growth during the period. |

SEAN RYAN
FINANCE DIRECTOR Sean is a Chartered Certified Accountant and moved to London in the late 1980s where he has been working in the construction and property development sector ever since. He was Finance Director of Mizen Design / Build Limited, between 1992 and 1998 before co-founding the ICAP listed St. Mark Homes companies. In the initial years of its operation St Mark traded as a secured contractor taking a similar risk position to a mezzanine funder. Sean continues to work for St Mark where his duties include project appraisal, sensitivity analysis, and due diligence on schemes with Gross Development Values between £2m and £60m. |
